Here in Minnesota, we are lucky enough to have two state birds. We have the beautiful Loon and the pesky Mosquito. Mosquitoes can irritate and annoy in any setting. I always enjoy watching families at baseball douse themselves in caustic, sticky bug spray. When we’re away from home, we can only do so much to protect ourselves. At home is a totally different story.
Whether it’s a pool day, kids in the backyard, or a grill out, we want it to be pest free and it helps to avoid unnecessary chemicals. We have found a simple and yet very effective way to enjoy your outdoor space, without the sticky sprays.
Barrett Lawn Care utilizes organic technology to create a bug-free zone. The product we use is made up of garlic juice and corn syrup. Since mosquitoes are soft-bodied insects, the garlic juice can be very toxic to them in increased concentrations. The juice does not harm humans, pets or plants, but to mosquitoes it can be deadly. The odor of garlic chases them away for as long as they can detect the odor. The odor of sprayed garlic juice becomes undetectable to humans within minutes, but mosquitoes can detect odor as much as 10,000 times better than a human. So even though you can’t smell the garlic, they can, and they will stay away from the sprayed area.
This blend is applied with a backpack fogger to all plants, bushes, turf, and structures. We do a total of 6 applications throughout the Mosquito season, keeping the pesky bugs away from you, your family, and pets….and best of all, it is completely safe!
